KonaCoco is excited to announce that our designs are now featured at Design Orchard.
Design Orchard is a government-sponsored retail destination showcasing top independent designers across Singapore with product from over 90 brands selling a wide range of premium clothing, accessories, home furnishings, beauty & souvenirs. As proud members of TaFF (Textile and Fashion Federation), KonaCoco is excited to join the Design Orchard family with our versatile and effortless pieces.
Our latest collection - Spring Break - features a range of dresses, coordinates and layering pieces in lightweight Tencel silks, and yarn-dyed Cotton Linen perfect for this summer. Design details include feminine pleats, trims, and romantic ruffles. The star garments in the collection are matching skirts and blouses that can be worn together for a monochromatic moment or paired with basic casuals to dress down.
In addition, our versatile sundresses that can also be worn as skirts are our 24/7 allies for long summer days. This season’s colour palette is dominated by beiges, creams, mauves, and pinks, perfect for every skin colour.
To celebrate our Design Orchard Launch, we have designed our Luna Capsule featuring a jacket, sash, skirt, and blouse exclusively for the store. About KonaCoco A slow fashion label with a sustainable eye, KonaCoco creations are all mindfully designed and produced in small batches, with a keen focus on premium quality and exacting attention to detail. Working directly with multiple small batch production houses KonaCoco takes pride in sourcing and dying their own fabrics, creating style statement designs that are truly unique. KonaCoco was founded in 2018 by Jessica Broughton, after she spotted a significant gap in the Asian fashion market. Living in tropical Singapore, Jessica was frustrated at the limited fashion options available – invariably, mainstream clothing brands flown halfway across the world, designed strictly to satisfy American or European trends and seasons, and rarely catering specifically for shoppers in Asia. Inspired to fill this void with something singularly stylish, Jessica decided to spread her creative wings – creating, designing and curating the KonaCoco Collection, a vibrant fashion destination for eclectic, flattering, stand-out styles, tailored especially for year-round tropical climates. High quality and endlessly re-wearable, KonaCoco creations are the antitheses of disposable fashion. Versatility and longevity are a vital part of the brand’s DNA, with chic colourful pieces that transition seamlessly from day to night, and are designed to be worn, layered and styled in a multitude of ways depending on each wearer’s unique personality. A sustainable eye is also key to KonaCoco’s conscious style – with minimal use of synthetics, increased use of deadstock fabrics, a commitment to plastic-free packaging, and minimal-waste small-batch manufacturing-based proudly in Asia, at ethical production houses vetted by Jessica herself. With a personal touch that sets them apart, KonaCoco is always delighted to offer friendly tips and advice on how to style their pieces and maximise their wearability – whether that’s in person at their Tanglin Road showroom or stockists' premises, via digital consultations, in stockists and homes, or with the help of bespoke stylist bundles hand-selected by fashion experts. In 2020 Jessica launched a new upcycle label called reGLAM. Currently harboured within KonaCoco, this fledging upcycling platform takes unsold and unworn clothing from premium independent designers, reworks the designs and employs struggling and out of work Singaporean seamstresses to complete the sewing by hand. reGLAM is currently inviting other brands to use reGLAM for their upcycling thus saving landfill and environmental waste & increasing upcycling participation by premium independent designers. The initial collection was launched in December 2020 with four styles, and has been very well received with positive sales. All collections are strictly limited in number, determined by the available styles from the originating designer. All designers we source from are slow fashion and independent. Our first made to measure seamstress was forced to make masks during 2020 to 'keep the lights on' - this was until they were contracted to work for reGLAM. During sewing of our last collection, we were delighted to witness three additional Singaporean seamstresses undertaking the work within this lead seamstress' premises. Their livelihood continues.
